Frame Rate  คือ?

 

Frame rate คือ อัตราการแสดงภาพเคลื่อนไหวในหนึ่งวินาที ซึ่งจะมีความหมายที่แตกต่างกันไปในการใช้งานแต่ละประเภท 

Frame Rate สูงทำให้ภาพเคลื่อนไหวเกิดความต่อเนื่องราบรื่นดูเป็นธรรมชาติ   เช่น 30fps

Frame Rate ต่ำทำให้ภาพเคลื่อนไหวไม่ต่อเนื่อง สะดุด จนทำให้ข้อมูลไม่ครบสมบูรณ์ เช่น 1fps

 

เฟรมเรทของหนัง หมายถึง อัตราการแสดงภาพในหนึ่งวินาทีอยูที่ 24 เฟรม/วินาที (Frame Per Second / FPS)  ในวงการหนัง เวลาถ่ายทำภาพยนตร์จะเรียกเฟรมเรทในการถ่ายทำว่า Speed ยิ่งถ่ายทำด้วยสปีดสูงเท่าไหร่เวลาเอาไปทำเป็นภาพสโลโมชั่นวัตถุก็จะมีการเคลื่อนไหวที่ดูเนียนขึ้น


เฟรมเรทบนจอคอมพิวเตอร์ หรือที่เรียกกันว่า รีเฟรชเรท (Refreash Rate)  คือความเร็วในการแสดงภาพบนจอมีความเร็วพื้นฐานอยู่ที่ 60 - 100 HZ(Hertz)


เฟรมเรทของทีวี คือ ความเร็วในการแสดงภาพบนจอทีวี ซึ่งแบ่งออกเป็น 2 ระบบ ตามกำลังไฟในแต่ละประเทศ คือ

PAL มีอัตราการแสดงภาพอยู่ที่ 25 เฟรม/วินาที  ระบบ PAL หรือย่อมาจาก phase alternation line ได้พัฒนาโดย Walter Bruch ชาวเยอรมัน ในปี 1963  ลักษณะของระบบ PAL มีเส้นมากถึง 625 เส้น แต่จำนวนภาพมี 25 ภาพต่อวินาที ( 25fps ) ประเทศที่ใช้ระบบภาพนี้ใช้ในประเทศที่ใช้ไฟ 220V/50Hz ได้แก่ ไทย อังกฤษ ฝรั่งเศส เยอรมัน

NTSC มีอัตราการแสดงภาพอยู่ที่ 30 เฟรม/วินาที NTSC มีจำนวน 525 เส้น ส่วนจำนวนภาพต่อวินาที มีถึง 30 ภาพต่อวินาที (30fps) ส่วนประเทศที่เหมาะกับระบบสัญญาณภาพนี้คือในประเทศที่ใช้ไฟ 110V/60Hz ได้แก่ สหรัฐอเมริกา แคนาดา ญี่ปุ่น พม่า

การนำ Frame Rate ไปประยุกต์ใช้งาน

          การประยุกต์ใช้งานที่เกี่ยวกับระบบรักษาความปลอดภัยโดยใช้ Frame Grabber ซึ่งก่อนการเลือกใช้จะต้องทราบถึงจำนวนกล้องที่ใช้และอัตรา Frame Rate ของ Frame Grabber ที่ใช้งาน 

ตัวอย่าง 1  Frame Grabber รุ่น Picolo Pro2 มีอัตรา Frame Rate ดังต่อไปนี้

 


จะพบว่าหากนำ Picolo Pro2 ต่อใช้งานกับกล้อง 1 ตัวภาพที่ได้จะมี Frame Rate สูงสุด 25fps(PAL) ทำให้ภาพดูเป็นธรรมชาติ  หากต่อกล้องเพิ่มเป็น 2 ตัวจะทำให้ Frame Rate ลดลงเป็น 7fps (PAL) หรือ 9fps (NTSC) 

ตัวอย่าง 2  Frame Grabber รุ่น Picolo Alert มีอัตรา Frame Rate ดังต่อไปนี้

และหากนำ Picolo Alert ต่อใช้งานกับกล้องตัวที่ 1-4 ภาพที่ได้จะมี Frame Rate สูงสุด 25fps(PAL) ทำให้ภาพดูเป็นธรรมชาติ  แต่การต่อกล้องตัวที่ 5 เป็นค้นไป จะทำให้ Frame Rate ลดลงเป็น 6.25fps (PAL) หรือ 7.5fps(NTSC)
